Why people call

The water problem usually didn't start today

Most callers have been watching something get worse for weeks — low pressure, air in the lines, a pump that runs too long. Here's what those symptoms usually point to.

Counties we serve

Seven counties, one crew that knows the terrain

Each county page lists the communities we reach and the work we do there most often.

  • Alamosa County

Covers the San Luis Valley floor and surrounding ranch land. Wells here often deal with high mineral content and irrigation pressure demands. See the Alamosa County page for details.

  • Conejos County

Rural properties spread across river valleys and high desert. Water line depth and freeze exposure are common concerns. See the Conejos County page.

  • Costilla County

Remote parcels, older wells, and long water lines are the norm. We handle full system checks and pressure tank replacements regularly here. See the Costilla County page.

  • Custer County

Mountain terrain with varied well depths and elevation-driven pressure issues. Filtration needs are common given local geology. See the Custer County page.

  • Huerfano County

Mixed rural and foothill properties with aging infrastructure. Pump and pressure tank work makes up most of our calls here. See the Huerfano County page.

  • Las Animas County

Large properties, long runs of water line, and cistern systems that need seasonal attention. See the Las Animas County page.

Water Works Plus works from the well to the building envelope — interior plumbing, fixtures, water heaters, drains, and well drilling are outside what we do.

How a service call goes

What happens from your first call to the work being done

No surprises. Here's the order of events and roughly how each step compares in cost.

  1. You call or we call back

Call (719) 859-1148 — answered 24 hours Monday through Saturday. We ask a few questions about your symptoms so we show up with the right parts. This costs you nothing.

  2. Free on-site estimate

We look at the full system from well to building and tell you what we find, in plain terms. The estimate is free. If the fix is simple, we may be able to do it the same visit.

  3. Diagnosis and the cheapest fix first

We start with the least expensive likely cause — often a pressure tank check or a switch replacement — before moving to more involved work. We tell you what each option costs relative to the next step.

  4. Repair or replacement

Most pump, tank, pressure line, and filtration work is done on-site. Parts are covered under a 5-year equipment warranty; labor and materials carry a 1-year warranty.

  5. System check before we leave

We run the system through a full pressure cycle and walk you through what we did. If we found something outside our scope, we tell you who to call — that referral costs you nothing either.

When you're ready to have someone look at it, call (719) 859-1148.

Why the cheap answer is safe to give

We can afford to tell you it is the cheap part

Not because we are nicer than the next outfit. Because of how this business is built — and all three of these are checkable.

  • No rig to keep busy

A drilling rig is the most expensive thing a water contractor can own, and it has to stay working to pay for itself. We do not own one. A new well is not on our list of answers, because we could not drill it if we wanted to.

  • We are a dealer, not a manufacturer

Authorized dealer — that is where the five-year equipment warranty comes from. We do not build pumps and we do not carry a quota on them. A pump we talk you out of costs us nothing.

  • A wrong diagnosis comes back to us

One year on labor and materials means we are the ones who drive back out if the fix does not hold. Guessing expensive is not only dishonest here — it is expensive for us.

None of that is a claim about our character. You do not have to take our word for any of it — the license, the association memberships and the warranty terms are all verifiable, and they are the same on paper as they are on this page.

Questions we get asked

Before you call

Yes. We cover up to 75 miles from Weston across all seven counties. If you're unsure whether your property falls inside that range, call us and give us your nearest cross streets or a landmark — we'll tell you straight.

No. Water Works Plus has no drilling rig and doesn't drill wells. That means when we assess your system, we have no financial reason to tell you that you need a new well. If you genuinely do, we'll say so and refer you to a driller.

Interior plumbing, fixtures, and water heaters are outside our scope. If your issue is past the building entry point, we'll tell you that clearly and point you toward a plumber. We'd rather refer you out than take work we shouldn't.

(719) 859-1148 is answered 24 hours Monday through Saturday. We don't make promises about how fast a truck rolls — rural distances vary too much — but you'll reach a person, not a voicemail, during those hours.

Yes. Free estimates and project quotes, no obligation. If you decide not to move forward after the estimate, you owe nothing.

Labor and materials are covered for one year. Equipment we install carries a 5-year warranty — we're an authorized dealer for the brands we use.

Usually yes. We bring common pump and tank sizes on the truck for the seven counties we serve. If your system needs something less common, we'll schedule a follow-up once the part arrives.

Excavation and water line work is part of what we do, including crossings that require digging near easements or road shoulders. We'll assess access during the estimate and let you know if any permits or third-party coordination apply.

Before we arrive

A few things that help the visit go faster

You don't need to diagnose anything yourself — that's our job. But knowing a few things in advance saves time on-site.

  1. Know where your well house or well cap is. We'll find it either way, but if you can point us to it when we pull up, we get started faster.
  2. Note roughly when the problem started and what changed. Even a vague timeline — 'it's been worse since the cold snap' or 'started after we filled the stock tank' — narrows the diagnosis quickly.
  3. Write down your pump's make and model if you can find it. Usually on a plate on the pump itself or in the well house. Not required, but it helps us confirm we have the right parts on the truck.
  4. Have your water source type handy — drilled well, hand-dug well, cistern, or hauled water. If you're not sure, that's fine. We'll sort it out when we arrive.

You don't have to have the answers — just the address and a description of what you're seeing.

Tell us what the water is doing.

We’ll tell you what it usually turns out to be, what it will take to confirm it, and what it costs — before we touch anything.
