Who we are and why it matters when your water is off

Water Works Plus handles the supply side of rural water systems — from the well to the building — across seven counties in southern Colorado. We don't drill wells, which means we have no financial reason to tell you that you need one. That's the short version of who we are.

Answering 24 hours a day, Monday through Saturday. Seven counties, 75 miles out from Weston. If your property is remote, that is the normal case here — not an exception.

What brings people here

You already know something is wrong. You want to know what.

Most people arrive here mid-problem — pressure dropping, pump cycling, water looking off. The question isn't whether something needs attention. It's what that something actually is.

What this hub leads to

The pages that answer the questions we hear most

Each link below goes somewhere specific. Pick the one that matches where you are right now.

  • What a service call covers

Before anything gets quoted or replaced, we need to know what's actually failing. This page explains what happens during a diagnostic visit and what it includes. Read it at /process/what-a-service-call-covers/.

  • Why we test before we quote

Replacing parts without testing first is how people end up paying twice. This page explains why we run diagnostics before putting numbers on paper. Read it at /process/why-we-test-before-we-quote/.

  • What a pump replacement actually involves

Pulling a submersible pump from a rural well is a half-day job at minimum, and there are real variables that affect how long it takes. This page walks through the process honestly. Read it at /process/what-a-pump-replacement-involves/.

  • The warranty, and what it covers

One year on labor and materials, five years on equipment as an authorized dealer. This page explains what that means in practice and where the edges are. Read it at /process/warranty-what-is-covered/.

  • Emergency work vs scheduled work

Not every problem is an emergency, and treating it like one can cost more than necessary. This page helps you sort out which one you're looking at. Read it at /process/emergency-vs-scheduled/.

  • What we do not do

We work supply side only — well to the building. No interior plumbing, no fixtures, no water heaters, no drains, no drilling. If what you need is on the other side of that line, we'll tell you plainly. Read it at /process/what-we-do-not-do/.

Water Works Plus works the supply side only — from the well to where the line enters the building; interior plumbing, fixtures, water heaters, drains, and well drilling are outside our scope.

How a typical job goes

From first call to finished work

The order matters because each step tells us something that changes what comes next. Nothing gets replaced until we know what's actually failing.

  1. Call and first questions

We ask what you're seeing, how long it's been happening, and what you already know about your system. This costs nothing and helps us show up with the right equipment. Details at /process/before-we-come-out/.

  2. Diagnostic visit

We test the system before we talk about replacing anything. That's the step most people skip — and it's the one that keeps repairs from becoming replacements. It's also the cheapest part of the whole process. Details at /process/why-we-test-before-we-quote/.

  3. Quote, not an estimate

Once we know what's wrong, we give you a real number — not a range, not a ballpark. Free estimates apply to projects we can scope without testing first. Details at /process/how-we-quote/ and /process/free-estimates/.

  4. Repair or replacement — your call

We'll tell you honestly when repair makes sense and when it doesn't. We don't push replacement if repair will hold. Details at /process/when-repair-beats-replacement/.

  5. The work itself

We carry the parts most jobs need so we're not making two trips if we can help it. Rural property, remote roads, and winter conditions all affect timing — we don't pretend otherwise. Details at /process/how-long-a-pump-job-takes/ and /process/winter-work/.

  6. Warranty starts at completion

One year on labor and materials, five years on the equipment we install as an authorized dealer. That clock starts when the job is done, not when you call. Details at /process/warranty-what-is-covered/.

When you're ready to talk through what you're seeing, (719) 859-1148 is the number.

Why the cheap answer is safe to give

We can afford to tell you it is the cheap part

Not because we are nicer than the next outfit. Because of how this business is built — and all three of these are checkable.

  • No rig to keep busy

A drilling rig is the most expensive thing a water contractor can own, and it has to stay working to pay for itself. We do not own one. A new well is not on our list of answers, because we could not drill it if we wanted to.

  • We are a dealer, not a manufacturer

Authorized dealer — that is where the five-year equipment warranty comes from. We do not build pumps and we do not carry a quota on them. A pump we talk you out of costs us nothing.

  • A wrong diagnosis comes back to us

One year on labor and materials means we are the ones who drive back out if the fix does not hold. Guessing expensive is not only dishonest here — it is expensive for us.

None of that is a claim about our character. You do not have to take our word for any of it — the license, the association memberships and the warranty terms are all verifiable, and they are the same on paper as they are on this page.

Questions we get asked

Before you call

No. We have no drill rig and we don't offer that service. That's actually useful to know, because it means if we tell you the well is fine and the problem is the pump, we have no financial reason to say otherwise. If you do need a new well drilled, we'll refer you to someone who does that work.

Seventy-five miles from Weston, across seven counties in southern Colorado. If you're not sure whether your property is in range, call us — (719) 859-1148 — and we'll tell you straight.

It means we work from the well to where the water line enters your building. Everything after that — interior pipes, fixtures, water heaters, drains — is out of our scope. If your problem is on the interior side, we'll tell you that on the first call so you're not waiting on us when you need someone else.

Free estimates apply to projects we can scope without running diagnostics first — water line work, new pressure tank installations, and similar jobs where the scope is visible. When the problem isn't clear yet, the diagnostic visit comes first. Full explanation at /process/free-estimates/.

Yes. Winter work is harder and some things take longer — frozen ground, remote access, short daylight. We don't stop working, but we don't pretend the conditions are the same either. Details at /process/winter-work/.

Then we tell you that before anything gets replaced. Testing first exists specifically to catch this. If you've already had someone tell you it's the pump, we can offer a second opinion. See /process/if-it-is-not-the-pump/ and /process/second-opinion-on-a-quote/.

The phone is answered 24 hours a day, Monday through Saturday: (719) 859-1148. We don't make promises about response times in minutes or hours, but you won't be leaving a message and hoping.

More than 15 years, licensed in Colorado under license #1447. We've been working rural systems in this part of the state long enough to know the common failure patterns, the properties that don't show up right on maps, and when a problem is outside our lane.

Before you call

A few things that help us help you faster

You don't need to have answers to all of these — but anything you know saves time on the call.

  1. How long the problem has been happening. Even a rough timeline — 'a few weeks,' 'since the last hard freeze' — tells us something useful about what's likely failing.
  2. Whether the pump is running. If you can hear it or see the pressure gauge moving, that's different from no response at all. Either answer is fine to give us.
  3. What you already know about your system. Well depth, pump age, tank size — whatever's in any paperwork you have. If you don't have any of that, we're used to working without it.
  4. Your property address and the best way to reach you. Rural addresses and GPS coordinates sometimes conflict. If your property is hard to find, /process/unmapped-rural-property/ explains how we handle that.

You don't need to have a diagnosis ready — that's what we're there for.

Tell us what the water is doing.

We’ll tell you what it usually turns out to be, what it will take to confirm it, and what it costs — before we touch anything.
